My Narrative Story

Purpose: You will write a story that will entertain your audience i.e the whole world.

Today’s WALT: entice the audience to read more and to understand who is the main character.

SC:

1. Hook in your audience with suspense, humour, traditional fairytale starter, rhetorical question or a general description of the setting and characters.

2. Try to include some historical background (exposition) about your main character.

3. Choose a point of view - First Character or Third Character

The Werewolf Family

I haven't been a werewolf all my life. I actually use to have a human family.  We were going on a road trip and got into a car accident.  I wasnt gonna make it, so Tipi scratched me and told the world that I had died (including my mum and dad) they couldn’t even find my body. So now, I am where I am, separated from everything I’ve loved and known.  Everything is new to me, and I’m scared a lot.  The life of the wolves killing and hunting terrifies me.

I hate being scared because instead of turning into a werewolf, I turn into chihuahua.  Now, I’m not even allowed to go and hunt vampires with my new wolf family; Remus, Te Kaha, Ronaldo, our pack dad Tipi and his girlfriend Nomairangi (the only female in the pack).  Every time my family go for a vampire hunt, I plead with them that they should let me come so I can overcome my fear, but they say it’s dangerous and that I might die.  The last time I went out I tried to help and almost got myself killed!

So, I asked dad’s advice in how I can overcome my fear.  He said, “Nomairangi was the best person to talk to, go and talk to her.”

Nomairangi shared her experiences from the past.  It use to happen to her as well but her son died, ripped apart and sucked dry from a vampire.   Apparently she bottled all her anger, sadness and love for her son into one enormous howl heard for miles throughout the land.  Nomairangi lost control of herself and turned into a MIGHTY werewolf and smoked the vampire that killed her son.

Yeah! I get to go hunting this weekend.  I’m nervous and excited.  I’m hoping now’s the time that I turn into a werewolf instead of a chihuahua.

We get up early to leave and as we’re walking through the woods I spot a vampire running at us.  I call out “THERE’S A VAMPIRE!’’

SUDDENLY everyone transforms into their werewolf forms except me!  I turn into a little chihuahua and get scared and run home.  I don’t even want to know what everyone thinks of me.  Man what to do?

Everyone comes home and I can already hear all their little snickers.  The first thing Remus says to me is ‘’HAHA WHAT A LITTLE GIRL.”  

‘’NO FOOD FOR YOU! HAHA!’’ says Ronaldo.

I storm out, they made me so angry I run into my room and cry.

The next day Te Kaha starts getting smart to me so I run away up into the woods into my little tree hut I made Last year.

No-one’s looking for me, I think they’ve decided to leave me be.  I start to feel sorry for myself.  They must all hate me.  I feel like the weak link because I’m not tough like them.  I wish I could turn into a werewolf and show my family that I can do it too.

Suddenly, I heard a knock.  “Go away” I said.  Again I hear a knock knock knock.  “What do you want?! I'm not coming home!”

I answered the door and standing in front of me was a Blood Sucking Vampire.  I didn’t know what to do, my body was shaking in fear. So I jumped out the window and transformed into a Chihuahua and ran back to our house and told my family, a vampire was right behind me.  

Te Kaha and Remus ran out and tried to save me.  Te Kaha runs up to the vampire and the vampire locks his fangs onto TeKaha’s neck and rips his head off and drops it onto the ground.

I got so angry I turned into a werewolf. I pounce onto the vampire and  I rip his arms and legs off.  

The next day we buried Te Kaha, next to Nomairangi’s son.  Every week I go and visit Te Kaha and thank him for saving my life.  

“He is a hero and his bravery will be remembered,” Nomairangi said.

Nomairangi and Tipi say I can go hunting with them every weekend now.  I’ve realised though, that killing’s just not my thing.  Vampires are no longer scary.  I know how to channel my emotions in order to be a ferocious scary wolf, if need be.  

This is my life now.  I have a strong pack family.  We live to protect others from the vampires. I enjoy my lifestyle now.
